The Government of Serbia wrote so impeccably all five laws on taxes and customs that were put before 250 MPs that none of them felt the need to change not even a comma. In the new episode of #CoupletChorusRebuttals hear why there were no objections nor to the set of loans through which the state additionally borrowed almost 600 million euros.
The Government of Serbia wrote so impeccably all five laws on taxes and customs that were put before 250 MPs that none of them felt the need to change not even a comma. The laws were adopted without amendments, and there were no objections to the set of loans through which the state additionally borrowed almost 600 million euros for the fight against Covid-19, but also for energy efficiency in central government and public buildings. All proposed HR solutions, including the re-election of Brankica Janković as the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, were adopted without hesitation.
So is there anything that the representatives of the highest legislative body have objections to? There is! The opposition is a thorn in the side of the otherwise unanimous Assembly, although it is not even present in this convocation. But yet it rubs them the wrong way. And so does one European politician and a few media. Ivan Ribać, Marko Atlagić, Janko Langura, Svetlana Milijić and Sandra Božić, among others, spoke about the key problems in the week when Serbia recorded the largest number of patients infected with and dead from Covid-19.
“The combined forces of opposition political and parapolitical organisations, as well as certain media that have a clear anti-state campaign, and create a daily atmosphere of lynching. I do not want to bode ill, but it recalls the period immediately before the death of the late Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić”.
“Dragan Đilas, popularly known as Điki the Mob, has not got the slightest feelings towards the families of the victims of Covid-19. He is not the only one. Even other opposition politicians, as well as he did, tried to use the death of our patriarch for their sick jokes and confrontation with the current government. The athlete Ikodinović also joined them. I quote ’The best role playing will be seen at the patriarch’s funeral, so stay tuned’. Shame on him! These are Đilas’s sympathisers.”
“Tanja Fajon is the only personal protector of the tycoon Dragan Đilas in Serbia. She directly works for him and his interests.”
“We are witnessing various malicious texts ordered by the so-called united opposition. Well, that united opposition rejoices at the sorrow of every deceased. They are laughing at us who are fighting the coronavirus and doing so better than anyone in Europe.“
“Every time someone threatens the children of Aleksandar Vučić, Dragan Đilas is behind it, no one else, and then some fascist freak like Nogo appears and just passes on the information.”
In such an atmosphere, where no remonstrance has been imposed, the statement of the Speaker of the Assembly, Ivica Dačić, confirming that the dialogue between the government and the opposition will be continued in the spring with the help of the European MPs, sounds utterly unrealistic.
For the Open Parliament, Mirjana Nikolić.
