The MPs once again demonstrated that the authorised representative of the group “Aleksandar Vučić – For our children” was stronger than the High Judicial Council, which proposed 37 new judges, but only 33 were elected. Jelena Žarić Kovačević merely stated that she was disputing the election of four judges, and that was enough. The public did not find out why, as no one asked any questions. In the discussion about the judges, it was more important to repeat how great this Government was, and how the former one had ruined everything.

“One of the judges persistently says, and that is the Judge Majić, that Vučić chooses his judges. Puh-lease, that’s the biggest nonsense I’ve ever heard in my life. Mr. President of the Republic of Serbia deals with extremely important things. He deals with state politics; he has nothing to do with judges.”

“It is good that the citizens of the Republic of Serbia do not forget all political wrongdoings conducted by members of the former regime in the period from 2000 to 2012. The Serbian citizens are very well aware of people who wish to destroy the judiciary, who wish to destroy the army, which is exactly what they did, who wish to destroy the police and who try very hard, like they did, to destroy Serbia.”

“Of course, the destroyers of Serbia are personified in the character and wrongdoings committed by Dragan Đilas, Boris Tadić, Vuk Jeremić. Everything they did was illegal and anti-constitutional.”

“Dragan Đilas’s regime left the country economically, infrastructurally, industrially totally devastated, and today we are at an enviable level in these fields. That same regime of Đilas and Jeremić left behind our country with no international reputation. Today, Serbia has an enviable international reputation.”

“I support all of you, honourable representatives of state institutions who work in the interest of the state of Serbia, the citizens of Serbia, on behalf of all ethnics living in the Republic of Serbia, because only together, respecting the Constitution, and led by Aleksandar Vučić, our President, can we eradicate corruption and defeat the mafia in Serbia.”

This week, the MPs also reviewed a set of laws on energy, concluding that all criticism coming from citizens’ associations was – pure politics.

For the Open Parliament, Mirjana Nikolić.
