COUPLET CHORUS REBUTTAL: EPISODE NO. 65

...

Ahead of the opening of the 7.7-kilometer bypass around Belgrade, in the presence of Serbian President and Chinese
Ambassador Chen Bo, this kind of support is coming from the Parliament.

The echoes of Aleksandar Vučić’s most successful visit to Brussels ever have lasted merely two days. He boasted about friendly meetings and the construction of a high-speed railway in which Europe invested at least 600 million euros, but in the end the MPs behaved as if they had been given a task to set the situation back to factory settings. There is no heartfelt
gratitude for Europe, which, as most MPs often say, hinders our progress out of some of its interests, but there are reminders of who our true friends are. Ahead of the opening of the 7.7-kilometer bypass around Belgrade, in the presence of Serbian President and Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo, this kind of support is coming from the Parliament.

“And when we talk about China and when we mention the name of Xi Jinping or Chen Bo, the first association of all of us is probably their help. In times of Covid-19 pandemic, we got medical help from them. We can also witness that we managed to acquire a large amount of vaccines from the Chinese company ‘Sinopharm’.”

“The old has been replaced by the new, better, more modern. Again, we can see clearly the future, prosperity, progress. With the fraternal Chinese people, that vision in Bor was given the name Xi Jin, while in the Republic of Serbia the vision bears the name of our President Aleksandar Vučić.”

“When I mentioned that we have a wise state policy and an active state policy […] yesterday, I owe [an explanation] to the citizens of the Republic of Serbia. It must be clear that Presidents Xi Jinping and President Vučić set the tone for those relations. This is not an exaggeration; it is a logical thing.“

“The Coronavirus showed how strong our steel friendship is and how strong that friendship is primarily on a personal level between President Aleksandar Vučić and President Xi Jinping.”

And in the end, the real winner who has been trending on all social networks for days, but deserves to be seen again.

“We respect the People’s Republic of China and I think that our relations will be on an even higher level, and that can certainly be summed up through two key sentences: that Serbia and China are good friends, that our friendship is made of steel and I will say that in another way, too. I will say in a way that the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi
Jinping, would say, but also our President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, who is known in China as “wu qi qi”, which means 577. They would certainly say: “XXXXXXXXX” (speaks Chinese) and then I will add something that we will all understand and that is definitely “XXXXXXXX”. Thanks.”

If you didn’t understand, never mind, it was not intended for you anyway.

For the Open Parliament, Mirjana Nikolić.
