COUPLET CHORUS REBUTTAL: EPISODE NO. 72

21.06.2021.

...

The amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance were adopted by the Assembly in order to help the retired to live even better, although according to the MPs they are already doing quite fine. The largest part of the debate was devoted to Aleksandar Vučić whose name was mentioned more than one hundred times during the day. Each MP did their best to repeat, in case it was not yet clear to everyone, that all credit was due to the President. It all sounded like this.

“At the time, PUPS supported the measures proposed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Vučić, in order to stabilise public finances, and thanks to these measures, the bankruptcy of the state was prevented.“

“I think, or rather I’m sure, that the politics conducted by Aleksandar Vučić is indeed directed towards our senior citizens, and that they are being taken care of. We can see that not only because pensions are regular nowadays, but also because they are constantly increasing.“

On the other hand, after a short calm, it seems that the chase for the opposition leaders has taken up again. Apparently, MPs miss them so much that they are constantly addressing them as if they were there, most of all the leader of the Party of Freedom and Justice, Dragan Đilas, who was mentioned as many as 77 times, and not for his kindness.

If they want, gentlemen who are dissatisfied with the measures of fiscal consolidation, can gather nicely, go in front of the Party of Freedom and Justice headquarters, if that’s their name, and ask Dragan Đilas to give them back the money he took from them while he was in power. “

“So, Mr. Andrej Vučić, unlike Dragan Đilas’s brother, Mr. Gojko Đilas, does not have 30 properties in elite locations in Belgrade. Our President Aleksandar Vučić and his brother Andrej Vučić do not have over 50 secret accounts where the stolen money of the citizens of the Republic of Serbia is put and they can proudly continue the fight, primarily for Serbia, and the fight within the Serbian Progressive Party.“

“And they will really be remembered for all evil they did to Serbia, and Serbia doesn’t want them. Serbia doesn't want arrogance, thieves, criminals, thugs, bullies. There are a lot of people like that in Serbia, but I am sure that nothing will stop President Vučić. No one can blackmail him, and Danilo, Milica and little Vukan will walk with their heads held up high, proud of their father.“

“Mr. Tadić, do you realise now who led the war and whose fault the war in the 90s was. Mr. Jeremić, do you understand? Mr. Đilas, do you realise that when you call Aleksandar Vučić and all of us instigators of war?“

As far as the speakers are concerned, these addresses were perfectly in line with the agenda.

For the Open Parliament, Mirjana Nikolić.
